We savor one of Oslo’s closest mountain areas, less than two hours from the capital, with its fantastic and diverse nature. A mixture of mountain tops, open landscape, water and forest makes this a popular hiking area, with Gaustatoppen at its heart.
Close by we find another amazing mountain summit – Blefjell.
At 1342 meters above sea level (MASL), Blefjell is absolutely not Norway’s tallest mountain, but it towers majestically, relative to its surrounding landscape.
We walk in the Blefjell area, surrounded by mountains, high land and beautiful spring water. The forest bares blueberries, raspberries and cranberries for our pleasure.
The Søstrene Storaas Hotell is characterized by its family history and local cuisine. We enjoy our breakfasts and dinners here along with the most important activity of all – socialising! This is where we share our experiences with our new friends. We have local guides as well as Expa’s team of experienced guides.
The Søstrene Storaas Hotell has forty-six rooms and is located approximately 110 km from Oslo and 20km outside Kongsberg, towards Rjukan. The hotel’s design is based on exciting family stories from around the world. It was established in 1990 as a result of developments within Kongsberg’s industry and is part of a farm that keeps pigs and sheep who graze on the land surrounding the hotel.
