This tour combines thrilling adventures in Norwegian mountains with unique hospitality and local culture that characterize the area. We will trek from the mountains all the way down to the sea – or rather the fjord – experiencing the best of both!
After taken the train from Oslo afternoon, we start the hikingtour next day at Finse – a mountain village 1.222 meters above sea level. Here we are truly in the mountains, with national parks and protected areas stretching out in every direction. From Finse to Geiteryggshytta and then to Østerbø, before we take in the wild and spectacular Aurlandsdalen Valley. Travelling westwards and towards the coast on one of the most captivating hikes in Norway.
The final destination for the hiking is Vassbygdi. From here we take a bus to Aurland/Flåm where we stay overnight. The next day we will visit Nærøyfjorden by boat (on Unescos World Heritage list) and later that day we board the Flåm Railway for one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Our voyage takes us from sea level and up to the mountains again at Myrdal 867 meter above sea level. Once at Myrdal station we hop on to the Bergen Line and travel back to Oslo.

The Norwegian tour operator, Expa Norway, take you to some of Norway’s most beautiful mountains and fjords. From Oslo we travel onwards to experience Norway at its best.
Our destination is known as being fantastic for Winter sports and skiing and is equally famous for its breathtaking scenery during the Summer months. Norwegians love to be outdoors and hiking in the mountains.

After arrivel in Vassbygdi, the final destination for the hiking, we visit Aurland, Nærøyfjorden and Flåm.
Accommodation in Oslo is at Comfort Hotel Grand Central.
During our time in the mountains we will reside in hotels and typical Norwegian cabins, idyllically situated in the midst of nature; Finse, Geiterygghytta and Østerbø.
Finse, Geiterygghytta and Østerbø have bedrooms with two to four beds, and Geiterygghytta also have dormitories. All accommodation at Geiterygghytta has shared toilet and shower facilities.
Accomodation in Aurland/Flåm will be in one of the local hotels.
This tour is designed for people who would love to experience magnificent and spectacular scenery combined with Norwegian mountain hospitality and culture.
Starting in the mountains and hiking down to sea level, daily distances are between fifteen and twenty kilometers. We walk on tracks and mountain terrain from five to eight hours a day. Naturally, you may encounter some weary limbs. To be as prepared as possible, we suggest you indulge in some training beforehand, and thus, create the best opportunity to really ‘enjoy the ride’.
The lowest age limit for this tour is 15 years of age.
You will complete each stage at your own pace, with help and support from both the guides and the group. We finish each day at a new location, where there is ample opportunity to relax and truly appreciate the amazing scenery, not to mention the local food.
The number of participants is limited to 30, to ensure that everyone has the very best experience on this tour. Our experienced guides will divide everyone into appropriate groups related to preferred pace and experience. You may, of course, change groups on the various days, if you wish.
All walkers will carry their own packed lunch and we will find a suitable spot on route to take a well-earned break and eat.
We will have our own supporting car that brings our luggage during the hole trip, except for the stage between Oslo – Finse – Geiterygghytta. That means that we have to bring with us toiletries for the stay at Finse Hotel. The car will meet us with the luggage at Geiterygghytta, after the first hiking day.
Large baggage is transported by our support vehicle. For the daily treks you will carry your own rucksack with food, drink, sun cream and any extra clothes.
Suggested Packing List. This list is meant to give you a guideline, so that we have everything we need on the trip, regardless of the weather. The weather in Norway in this period can be anything from a warm summer day to a cold day with tempratures below freezing.

We initially meet up in Oslo at Comfort Hotel Grand Central. The first evening at 8 pm we will have a meeting in the Hotel with detailed information about the tour. Dinner at your own this night.
The following day you will have breakfast and your day free in Oslo until we will meet you in the Hotel reception at 2.30 pm. Here we will pack the car with your luggage, and then we take the train from Oslo at 15.43 pm to Finse. Here we will have dinner and stay the first night. The scenic train journey to Finse takes about 4.5 hours. It is possible to buy something to eat on the train, or you can bring with you from Oslo.
After breakfast and making our self-packed lunch, we hike from Finse to Geiterygghytta. Here we walk through Skarveheimen in Hallingskarvet National Park. Normaly this is the part where we have snow around us, even if it is summer. We start at 1222 meters above sea level ascending to 1600, before we descend to Geiterygghytta at 1224 meter above sea level. We enjoy our self-packed lunch during the trip, and having dinner at Geiteryggshytta.
We are making our self-packed lunch, and having breakfast, before our hike takes us through the beautiful Stemmerdalen Valley, to Østerbø Hotel. This day we will feel and see the difference in the landscape from the eastern part of Norway into the mountains and the landscape in the west. Self- packed lunch on the halfway to Østerbø, where we will have dinner and stay for the night.
After another breakfast and making self-packed lunch, we continue our journey all the way down through the stunning Aurlandsdalen Valley to the fjord. This one of the most famous and beautiful hiking routes in Norway. We gather together in the little village of Vassbygdi. After a short bus trip, we arrive at our Hotel in Aurland/Flåm where we have dinner and stay overnight.
